Anyone who is having problems using Clipmarks in Firefox 3.5, please uninstall the version you currently have and then go to the source of this clip and reinstall it - after doing that it will work properly.

I'm very sorry to anyone who is inconvenienced by this. Please POP so others will be made aware.

Thank you!

When I click on my little paper clip icon for the first time,
it crashes firefox. Only by logging on through the widget it works. I will follow your suggestion.
thanks

Being the computer chicken I am, I'm going to get my son to look at this for me first and of course himself too now that he's a clipper.

I finally got it take. It took about 5 uninstalls-reinstalls and a little voo-doo, but it seems to be OK now.

willhelm we added the extra voodoo just for you to get you back for times you've been a pain in the ass

I need that voodoo, I guess. 4 reinstalls and still no clipping.

We should have a brand new version of Clipmarks available by the end of the day tomorrow that will absolutely work (without needing to uninstall the current version first) With FF3.5. We weren't planning on releasing it just yet (includes integration with a new service we've been working on called Amplify), but we're expediting it because of the issues we're currently having with 3.5.

I am really sorry to BartendingBear and anyone else who is having problems.

No apologies needed. Clipmarks is a valued gift I am thankful for. Software develoment is a snarky thing with lots of voodoo at every turn. I've had far more troubling issues with software from far larger concerns in the past 20 years. You guys are great!

I reload addons automatically when there is a glitch. And F/F has been a bit unstable lately. Also better since reloaded.

I'm not going to download Firefox 3.5 until you give the thumbs up, Eric. (I can't risk losing the Clipmarks' thingy on my toolbar because I'm 'computer retarded', and the last time something went horribly wrong I came close to murdering my keyboard))

Please and thank you.

Sounds good. I'll keep you posted as soon as the new version of clipmarks is available.

I realize that there are problems with this addon that will be corrected tomorrow. However all the text that I added in the folders are gone. The file names are there, but the box is blank. Will I be able to retrieve the text??? Please advise....

Clip to Blog stopped working for my wordpress blog so I installed the new clipmarks but no luck
Nothing in the FAQ is helping and I can't find any help forum on this site.

Error: There has been an error when testing your blog configuration. Please review your settings and try saving again.

Currently using Firefox 3.011 but Im not going to upgrade to 3.5 right away as it will probably kill some other plugins and Ive had enough headaches today.

Still unable to create new clips. Orange lines appear, they mark, as clipped, but when hitting the "click here when done clipping", nothing happens.

In the past sometimes this happened when "scripts" on a certain page were not approved, but after approving this still does not work. Am using Firefox most recent version, and have reinstalled the latest Clipmark version.

The new Clipmarks add-on is working great for me now, but I only use the clipping feature, not the blogging or Amplify clog feature.

It seems that I can still select text independently of the orange box, but I do miss being able to turn off the orange box. Maybe that's the price of progress, perhaps demanded by new functionality related to Amplify. If so, so be it. I do want to see the clipdaddys thrive in their efforts.

I installed FF 3.5 and lost real player record plug in add on as it was not compatible with FF at this time. I then went on search and searched for clipmarks. When search was done I deleted all areas that search brought up in reference to clipmarks. I then installed the new clipmarks 4.0.0 and all is working well thus far. Having no problems clipping individual sentences. Hope I haven't spoken too soon. Good luck!

Having a problem here: no yellow frames at all. "clip it" still appears and works when selecting with the mouse.

It's Fx 3.5 BTW. Uninstalled again, removed all clipmarks lines from prefs.js, reinstalled - it's working fine now. Somehow I had
user_pref("extensions.clipmarks.use-borders", 0);
in prefs. After clearing that (and everything else) from prefs, there is now
user_pref("extensions.clipmarks.use-borders", 1);
I suspect that's the culprit, but how it got to my prefs?

JohnWaterman and anyone else who has installed Clipmarks 4.0 and is not seeing it, go to the top of Firefox, and please click on View >> Toolbars >> Customize and scroll down to the bottom of the window that opens. You should see the Clipmarks icon. Drag it to the top of your browser and you should be all set.

I just posted a new clip letting people know that Clipmarks 4.0 is now available. Anyone who is still having problems with it, please post a comment there and we'll do our best to deal with them as soon as possible. From all our testing, it should work very smoothly with Firefox 3.5.

What is the new "Sorry you are not allowed to comment on this clipmark?" Does it mean a guide is no longer my guide or someone is censoring comments on their clips?
7-4-2009 12:19 PM
brightlight4
Michellezm: Why can't I comment on your clips? Seems I am banned from your clips, so for the moment I have stopped following you until I can understand the situation OK? No bad feelings, just don't understand at all.

@brightlight4 you probably offended her by a comment you made on someone's clip. She banned me too because of a comment I made on someones clip that she found offensive. I apologized but I'm still banned. Hopefully she'll come around because I do like her clips and I like her too.
@ eric, now there's another clipmarks for firefox 4.0. Are there more or is it safe to install that one. Inquiring minds want to know.

you're good to install the new one - should not have any problems.
