A mile long walk home???? I am surprised that in this climate anyone would allow a young child to travel that distance alone.

The despair must be almost unbearable

They have found her body in a trash dump. The father ID'd her from a birthmark on her leg. I don't care who killed her but an article I saw listed 54+ sexual predators in a 5 mile radius that the police had questioned. We have even more than that in ours. How many more children are going to know the horror of this experience while our society and judicial system allow these people to walk around among the innocent? We sacrifice these children and inflict a life of maximum sorrow on their families...all in the name of...What? These murderers and rapists of children deserve to die.

For all we know, she climbed into a dumpster to hide from the ones she'd just had an argument with, and tragedy struck. We won't know until the autopsy.

Possible, but not likely. Her body was found covered in a land fill. The police had immediately expected foul play and are pursuing a criminal investigation.
