Where the courts and the media are remiss in this case is most obvious: THE LAW'S SEX STATUTES ARE SEXIST. Even the court's decision to release Wilson labeled his actions a crime albeit a misdemeanor rather than a felony. How many 17 year old girls have ever been convicted of a sex crime for having consensual sex with a teenage boy?

Yes. If you Google his name, Genarlow Wilson, you should be able to find a few articles about his release.. His lawyers argued for his release on the basis that his sentence was cruel and unusual. The judicial decision to free Genarlow was four for, three against. Interestingly, had he had sex with the girl, his "crime" would have been a misdemeanor . She performed oral sex on him which at the time was still viewed an act of perversion and a felony in Georgia.

As for the race question. The intent of the statutory sexual offense code is to criminalize and persecute male sexuality in order to confer females a more protected and untouchable status.. Males are punished far more severel...

Oh! Sorry.. The female teacher was white. Her sentence, 90 days, was typical... about 3% of the time a male teacher would get for the same indiscretion. I don't have any information as to whether or not black females receive more severe sentences for seducing minors than white females. However, I've noticed the latter do talk shows.. Larry King, Oprah, etc..
