Saw this on the BBC News. Great news of UK kids. Thought the use of spellcheckers, it is hard you you to know that I've dyslexia. I was 10/15 out of school before I even heard of such a condition. The wonder for me is that not one of the excellent professional teachers that schooled me realized this. It was looking back so obvious that the only explanation is that they had no knowledge of it either. A close friend is dyslexic and, like you, the condition wasn't picked up at school. She has managed her life despite it and holds down a responsible job which she would probably lose if it became public knowledge. I only edit when she asks but do point out some lulus from time time - and our relationship is such that no offence is given or received. I admire her greatly. You too. It agree. It's great to see such a helpful online community like http://www.thepowerofdyslexia.com with members that embrace the power of dyslexia rather than they negative site. |
