In many cities, the city lights drown out the stars completely. Having lived in Atlanta for 25 years I know that the outlying areas in North Georgia are perfect for stargazing. Being in the foothills of the Smokies there are peaks and valleys that are remote enough to escape the lights of civilization. I'd love to visit here and camp out to look at the stars.
