Definitely. And as I said on another comment, the American "left", namely the Democrats are very far from being left.

Right ... keeping in mind that for a lot of voters today, on both sides of the aisle, the best example of a "liberal" they can come up with is Hillary Clinton. If she's a liberal, then so was Eisenhower.

Two party system. I think the "center of gravity" is to the Right because the GOP base is people who think the GOP is the Instrument of God. While the Democratic base is people who think the Democrats are simply the lesser of two evils.
