David Hughes says: A dilemma for many people! I still have trouble understanding why people are hesitant. I grew up in a time when I caught all the kinds of measles, mumps, chicken pox, I didn't catch polio but others did. Young parents I think just assume that their children won't catch any of these diseases, but measles can be deadly as well as polio could leave one disabled at best and dead otherwise. Younger parents didn't have these diseases or know anyone else that did, but that does not mean they have gone away, only that our herd immunity protects them and to keep herd immunity one has to immunize your child. One can still catch these diseases and end up dead if one is not immunized--as a parent I wouldn't want that on my conscience if my child caught one of these diseases that they can so easily be protected against by a simple shot--as a parent I chose not to immunize my child and they ended up dead. yup, i had mumps (awful and painful) and i believe chicken pox, not sure about measles. Plus i've seen video of kids with whooping cough, and who hasn't seen what polio did? And of course to leave your child unvaccinated is to pass these along... Yes it is a difficult decision, though, i agree. Interesting! Thanks "The Infowarrior"! I have to be a bit skeptical about this but it's terrible if true! |
