I heard the LA Times reported this exactly backwards from how it actually went down. The Times claimed it was the little old man who bit off the finger of the MoveOn.org guy!

My understanding is that the idiot who got his finger bitten off was a counter-protester sticking his hand into the face of a guy who was protesting in favor of rational reform.
