ColoradoRight says: An interesting quote from the Conservative Party spokesman (who is a Muslim) Sayeeda Warsi, the Conservative spokesman on community cohesion, was quoted as saying that the report shows "a breathtaking misunderstanding of what it is to be British. These proposals could actually damage cohesion....You don't build community cohesion by throwing out our history and denying the fundamental contribution Christianity has played and does play to our nation. As a British Muslim I can see that -- so why others can't just staggers me." She added: "The thought of Gordon Brown sharing responsibility with me for bringing up my children sends a shiver down my spine. I thought we got rid of communism." Oh, here we go with the "war on..." crap. Maybe there should be a war on "the war on" cliché. Birth ceremony instead of Christening. So what. If you want a Christening, have one. If you don't, don't. Simple! That doesn't make it a WAR on anything. Also the Union Jack may be meaningless soon enough if the Scots can reverse the Act of Union and seek independence. I heard they also want to call the King/Queen "Defender of the Faiths", not just "the Faith". Wow! |
