We pretty much see them all the time. Think about it. We were first introduced to them due to the military. How often do we see soldiers on TV carrying them as part of their equipment. Why? Well simple. They can see everything that they need to at night. How many of us are familiar with them through video games? I would honestly say there are many of us who are. Play a character who needs to run around and be stealthy and you'll have a pair.
