I think it's mostly just part of the aging process; quickness of memory along with the ability to memorize just seem to disappear with age. However, I'm a strong believer in dealing with high blood pressure as it's already dealt severe blows to two members of my family and I'm treating mine. But one thing I was unaware of was the damage excessive alcohol can do the the brain's cells. My brother'-in-law's strokes were caused by the weakening of those vessels in his brain. Even after having stopped drinking over 14 yrs. ago, the damage had been done. And there was no overt evidence that anything was wrong with his brain before the 'big one'. Be careful everyone.
