Fitzgerald lowers the boom on Cheney - as the man behind the scene - the man he believes was behind the crime.

"There is a cloud over the vice president. He wrote on those columns. He had those meetings. He sent Libby off to the meeting with Judith Miller where Plame was discussed. That cloud remains because the defendant obstructed justice. That cloud is there. That cloud is something that we just can't pretend isn't there."

Meanwhile, the rest of America eagerly awaits the toxicology report of Anna Nicole Smith.

Perjury and obstruction of justice - ask Libby - he'll explain it to you - he's facing over 30 years in the big house.

Wouldn't this be like Clinton blaming Monica for his perjury?

Except that the GOP controlled Senate found Clinton not-guilty on the bogus perjury charge.

But a judge found him guilty of perjury and held him in contempt of court for it. And I find it a whole lot more likely that Libby forgot the exact details of a conversation a few years after the fact than I do Clinton (or any guy who isn't sleeping around a lot) forgetting about a blow job.

Is he back in the country? He's been making so called surprise visits to so called dangerous countries of the world.

You are sorely mistaken. Perjury is a crime, and President Clinton wasn't found guilty of any crime. He was found not-guilty of the bogus perjury charge.

You are thinking of his having been held in "civil contempt," not "criminal contempt." I've seen lawyers jailed for wearing clothes the judge didn't like. The civil contempt meant nothing in the grand scheme of things.

By the way, the impeachment article handed down by the House didn't even say what was the lie Clinton allegedly told. That's because the lame duck House had no idea if Clinton lie...

Oh, so it was just civil contempt. Well that changes things entirely. No big deal there. But I do find it odd how you are so forgiving of Clinton's misbehavior, but are condemning Cheney for a crime for which he isn't even being charged.

No, it doesn't change things. But you're right about it being no big deal. There's nothing for which to forgive Clinton. He can't help it that he was falsely accused by a vindictive GOP House, and then was cleared by a more reasonable GOP Senate. But I'm pleased that they saw fit to find him not-guilty.

And, you are mistaken again.(Is poor reading skill a requirement for becoming a rightwinger?) I haven't condemned Cheney for any crime. I do, though, hope he's dragged before a grand jury. I'dlike to know more about his role in the outing of Plame.

Why? There was no crime in outing Plame. Are you just hoping they could manage to trip him up or get him to say something that contradicts someone else so they could charge him with perjury too?

The CIA and Bush's Justice Department apparently thought there was. And Libby's facing some hard time for his role in trying to cover up for whoever outed her. That leads me to believe that HE thought it was a crime. Otherwise, why would he risk 30 years in jail? No, there's little doubt about it. Someone in that Bush WH definitely committed a crime. We need to get Cheney on the stand and find out what he knows.
