Wow. Alot of those are very detailed. Looks like a Halloween/Disney theme was going there as well.

Is this supposed to be just sand and water? There has to be a thickening agent or something holding the sand together

Skwirl, it's just sand and water. Getting the proportions just right is crucial. The artists use spray bottles of water to "glue" the sand in place. If the sand dries out too much, it loses its cohesiveness.

I'm going to the beach today. I'll be sure to take some pictures of our sand castles, which will surely amaze you. Ha!
