H/T to polymath22. That last paragraph sounded just like her. Hilarious! Sadly hilarious. LOL! He better watch out, he might confuse a lot of people who voted for him. Nope, they all know he can speak in complete sentences and did not confuse him with the anti-Christ, So the score so far is smart folks 100- Idiots 0. Thank you for playing! He better watch out, he might confuse a lot of people who voted for him. You're dissin' my mama, burndata. This is a ridiculous news item and idea. Obama speaks a very refreshing and clear American English. He also uses common language that is not elitist: like: 1. They play a good game but.. 2. He quotes hip-hop JayZ ""Brush that Dirt off" 3. He does the 'fist bump," Etc. --- Actually, it would be sort of interesting to learn more of his 'common phrases." The facts of this clip are just so opposite reality. Many Black folks think Obama is cool. And if they think he is cool he must have some 'coolness.' in their culture. Many White folks also think he's pretty cool (besides being 'distinguished.') He's been on magazines since mid-2007 (GQ) as an example of "cool" or hip or someone to be ad... Citizen, this clip is satire... though everything you say is right on. Oh, yes, the difficulty of having to think about what someone means. That is NOT something Americans want or need to do...there...there I call Poe's Law! I call Poe's Law!Thank you, thank you, thank you! I read about Poe's Law quite a while ago, and had forgotten its name! I will admit to being originally fooled by an article I saw once from a "pro-life" group arguing that rape should be reclassified as an "unplanned sexual event". Sometimes when you hear stories about the 'house negro,' it's hard to tell if they're serious, true, or not. Thank God President-elect Obama actually talks a language people understand. And Thank God that no matter what smears about his race or religion or love of country that we will have a smart, thoughtful and politically astutue person in the White House soon Poe's Law? -- I hope this doesn't mean I've been pwned! Not sure if you were serious about your question of Poe's Law or not so didn't want you to think I was just being snarky with a 'pwned' type comment. Here is the definition I guess its a double Poe's Law if you didn't think my usage of it was serious love it! I'm not sure I can deal with a president who doesn't know how to pronounce "nuculur". |
