A malware ridden computer starts to display pornographic popups when the students surfed the web, and the substitute teacher in charge has been tried and convicted of multiple counts of felonies.

Just how can she be found guilty?

Negligence in not maintaining the security software?
Allowing the children to surf unattended?

Or

Did the jury understand the case, or was it swamped in techno-babble?

The problem is we dont have the full story.
Any chance of getting hold of the court transcripts???

This is unbelievable. Teachers all over the country get prosecuted by the ignorant public, who have no idea what it is like to teach, for doing something innocent that goes wrong. No parent would be arrested and convicted for this if it happened in his or her home. If the teacher wasn't the one that went to the website, it's not her fault. I can't even buy a negligence charge because the head teacher was the one that instructed the sub to let them surf. That's sad that her life is ruined because of someone else's ignorant actions.

It is very sad that those who take the trouble working for the benefit of society must suffer the ignorance and incompetence of others

There are an awful lot of people out there who really dislike teachers, I've noticed. Not sure why.
