It's my understanding, from being part of a church that had to get city approval to acquire a building that was for sale, that a city and it's citizens do have a say in what so-called "houses of worship" go up.

What makes me laugh is CAIR's statement about this "day and age"....OH PLEASE! Ten years ago, when Americans were largely naive about the evil that lurked behind the walls of the neighborhood mosque, few worried worried about the building of a mosque. But today...in THIS day and age, people ARE on their guard against the evil of Islam....as they very well should be. We have some very good reasons to be opposed to mosques opening in our neighborhoods.
