clip-on-tie says: Entire article at NewScientist: http://www.newscientist.com/article/mg20427321.000-clever-fools-why-a-high-iq-doesnt-mean-youre-smart.html?full=true Fascinating - thanks! Again, we didn't need a 'study' to tell most of us this information. We all know of highly intelligent people who have no common sense or wisdom. Often they're abrupt, rude and condescending. Average/normal intelligence coupled with kindness and initiative can make a more balanced person. Just my *average* 2 cents worth. Clip-on-tie, obviously you believe that IQ is correllate somehow with the length of a clip. Geniuses are absolutely unique. I was agreeing with the title of the clip considering what I've observed about so-called intelligent people. The genius is usually channeled into a particular area and they often falter on basic common sense or *fit in* well with regular folks. There's lots of different kinds of intelligence and no test or series of tests can be of use in evaluating all of them. In my experience, every person has a streak of genius running through him/her. One may not have found it yet, but it is there. How did you manage to fit so many characters into one clip? is there some hidden intelligence test on CM that the rest of us didn't manage to pass? copytaste. Bypassing the 1000 words limit is ok I guess or there would have been some reaction. You can copy any piece of text onto a free storage site as a jpg, for instance, and clip it as an image. There are all sorts of ways to do it. For myself, I'll continue to respect the 1000 word limit. And we can squeeze as many pictures as we want in the clip. But is that could be called a clip? We need to get here just leads and decide by ourselves whether to go digging or not. Otherwise we just spending others time, that task on web assigned to special people, whose IQ level raising no questions... Assume that everyone you meet is at least as smart, if not smarter, than you. If you think that you're smarter than the other person, consider that you might be being outsmarted. |
