These trees produce birds that look like small geese; the young birds hang from their beaks from the trees. If you are a barnacle goose and you're born onto a branch that just HAPPENS not to hang over some water, you know you are going to die as soon as you fall off that tree. So you basically spend your short, miserable, boring life hanging around by your beak waiting to die. What an inefficient way to propogate a species. No wonder they're extinct. Or something.
