Digi-Words says: What country are we living in. Anybody read the executive order that Bush signed about criminalizing any anti-war sentiments... Sorry but I call Bullshit. Show us the list of cell phones that have both GSM capability AND that also support remote turn on.(NONE) If the phone is OFF, you are not going to turn it on remotely. Not too mention that not all cell phones even have GSM type chips. Many people are still using TDA/TDM type cell phones and they have no global chips whatsoever. Talk about wild paranoia. Plus, the end source in this chain of links through Digg winds up being a video of a FOX News segment. This is the same network that recently reported on roving gangs of lesbians abducting youth to make them gay. The Government is so screwed up these days I don't know what to believe anymore. I'm sure they have the technology. If they would just stop smoking the_____ 80% of their fears would go away. Just wondering... Most countries have laws protecting privacy... Is that all gone then? Don't they already have enough on their hands with all the underground stuff to vigil over? Yes indeed, this is really paranoia... How much more is this going to cost the US citizens? Is this staff being properly paid for all their overtime? Hmm.. the executive order... Just because he suffers from insomnia at night... Maybe, he just needs a bit of company to fight off the ghosts who haunt his sleep at night.... Perhaps he does have a conscience after all... Our privacy rights pretty up went up in smoke with The Patriot Act. Napster, If the cell phone has a GPS device, which they are all required to have now, the GPS will still work when you turn the phone off. A Google search of gps in cell phone work if phone is off? produced over 2,000,000 sites. They have also been caught using that thing in expensive cars -- "On Star?" as a microphone. The judge ruled against the FBI, not because of privacy issues, but suppose highway bandits (otherwise known as "police') had stopped the hapless couple for throwing a cigarette butt out the window, throws the husband to the ground, the wife tries to call for help using OnStar, but can't because the FBI has it tied up? That's why the judge ruled against the FBI, not because their rights were being violated. Napster, If the cell phone has a GPS device, which they are all required to have now, the GPS will still work when you turn the phone off.Again I am correct. OLDER cell phones (TDMA/analog cell phones) DO NOT have GPS circuits in the first place. And as this counter surveilance expert attests, it varies greatly depending on what phone you do have. The whole TITLE of this clip is "The FBI can eavsedrop on you even when your cell phone is off" which IS NOT TRUE. Again remote turn on capability does not exist, (and if you find one one post it here, we'd all love t... Napster get down from your bully pulpit, its boring. The title originates at the source and was repeated in the title on the clip. Stop harping about different technologies GPS, etc. you're missing the broader point of posting the clip. You're dancing on the head of pin ALL by yourself. Move on already! Ever wonder why HDTV is suddenly so popular? Have you seen how small electronics has been getting? Is everyone clueless? To everyone here and out there, I would like to tell from first hand experience that not only is it possible to eavesdrop on a room conversation through the cellular phone mic, but it can be done with very old phones and it has been possible for the last ten years and maybe even before. In 1997 the police In Israel built a big case from such recordings of me and some of my friends, resulting in 2 of us serving 6 months in prison (not me). Today I know for a fact that most of the communication (In the world!) is monitored, recorded and analyzed on the fly. -Someone is listening !!! (and yes, even this post will be databased !) To everyone here and out there, I would like to tell from first hand experience that not only is it possible to eavesdrop on a room conversation through the cellular phone mic, but it can be done with very old phones and it has been possible for the last ten years and maybe even before.Prove it. |
