I think this demanding a lot from americans, some of which can't place their state on the map! It's too bad that I have a feeling things are only going to get worse. Maybe if the information was actually useful Americans would know it. It's not just Americans who need to know at least the basics of world religions and geography. Let's not get into America-bashing! Seeing how students are not allowed to talk about religion in school, what do you expect? Even if they could, do you expect anything more from kids that need calculators to add, spell check to spell, and can't find a country without having google find it for them? Wow, even I can name the 10 commandments, know what sodom and gomorrah are, and I'm an atheist! I also know it's complete bollocks. You can't even blame the Harvard, they have just introduced religion into their curriculum. Anyone who watched Stephen Colbert interview Lynn Westmoreland knows that there are people out there who claim to believe in the Ten Commandments but still can't actually name them when asked... The only god in the majority of the world is MONEY. So do you know the 10 commandments of the wall street ? I feel you have to be taught to know the Ten Commandments which very few people don't keep them. Everybody should know them but not everybody does. Why should everybody know them? They're the outdated, edited laws that Jesus threw out with the rest of the OT jargon. |
