...and the idea of "egonomics", the explanation to why we don't do things in time (or not at all), while doing them in time (or at all) would be for our best, thus actually the rational decision.

Life seems to be all about cost and benefit, only the way we 'weigh' things (or how much cost/benefit we assign to things) seems to change...
