Oh....but the lie is so much more delicious and makes the "critics" sound so pious. If it will taint the "selected " President, then it doesn't matter if it's true or not.

Oh boy...for the umpteenth time, the LIE was that Iraq was a threat that needed to be solved by invading and doing regime change. WMDs where just an excuse, a convenient scare tactic. Also, it is obvious the author did not read the whole report.

why does it matter? What was done is done, we should concentrate on what's happening now.

It matters because it the whole reason that the world is in this mess. It also matters if you don't want to be suckered into another pointless war with Iran.

A government can only go based on the intell that it is receiving. "Suckers"??? How do you determine who is being suckered and by whom? We assume that *these* people have our (and their) best interests at heart. Rat...you can call me stupid till the cows come home...but it made sense (at the time) for all of us to believe the intelligence that the "friendly" nations around the World were giving the US; including our own. I refuse to second-guess people who have access to things that I don't know and never will. And I don't trust the Rockefellers, the Wilsons, the Soros, the Levins, the NYT, Al-Jezerrah, Hamas, Chevez, Al-Qaeda, etc....chose your poison. I know where I stand. "Trust a...

If the stupid liberals allow us to finish the job in Iraq, we will have a grateful Middle Eastern democracy and a strong ally. We are about 95% there now. Only a liberal idiot will be able to turn victory into defeat, and so embolden our islamic fanatic enemies that they will again reconstitue and get back on the offensive.

YO RAT! Iraq was a threat. Do you not remember the Iran/Iraq war? How about Iraq invading Kuwait? No, something more recent, like Sadaam using WMD's on his own people (Kurds). How about Sadaam purposely destroying and entire ecosystem in his own country in order to punish those people involved in a failed coup. He was a threat and now he is dead.

Do you not remember the Iran/Iraq war?
The one where both Moscow and Washington payed Saddam to bash Iran? Yeah I remember. I also remember the tanker war and how the U.S. Navy took the Iraqi side even after the Iraqi Air Force put a hole in an American frigate and killed 23 sailors. Not a big threat then.

No, something more recent, like Sadaam using WMD's on his own people (Kurds).
Actually that happened during the Iran/Iraq war, and shortly after that Rumsfeld payed Saddam a visit and shook hands with him. Nobody in the White House seemed to mind then. And Saddam or anyone in his goverment was convicted of those crimes, excpet they where convicted of some o...

Let's say Bill Clinton had ordered an invasion of Iraq, and no WMD's were found. Would Democrats and the peace at any price crowd be yelling as much as they are now. I THINK NOT!!!! There is on curious item that I have never seen in print or heard on the networks. Who would have taken over Iraq after Saddham Hussein's death? Those two choirboy sons, Uday and Qusay, were waiting in the wings. Uday, the Terrible, was a sociopath and a psychopath. He was totally evil and brutal. Qusay was in charge of the prisons and torture. It is my understanding the brothers two went periodically to monitor and make sure it was brutal enough. I shudder to think about the consequences for the Middle East, the...

But Bill Clinton did not, and had he done so, telling the same bull as Bush, he should be excoriated for it as well (oh wait, didn't he Wag the Dog during Operation Desert Fox).

This has nothing to do with defending anyone. It is about Empire, pure and simple. Conquest of the weak for the acquisition of ill gotten wealth.

Syria, sure they would want all that crap and be the next target for bombers. Pakistan, have you looked at a map lately? Besides Pakistan is an U.S. "ally" and neither country needs WMDs, they already have them (Syria has chemical weapon stocks, Pakistan is a nuclear armed nation).

I feel comfortable with the fact that we took out Saddam. I have no regrets there. I do have regrets with occupying the country for five years for no good reason.
