righthand says: "The feeling in Baghdad is that this agreement is going to be rejected in its current form, particularly after the events of the last couple of weeks. The government is more or less happy with it as it is, but parliament is a different matter." said one well-placed Iraqi Sunni political source. ... Guardian Used to be a lot less spectacular, but I'm sure the Iraqis would have settled for a few beads and a blanket if they had known that they were to be the jewel in Americas tiara. Those poor Iraqis they remind me in a way how the Indians were persecuted for their religous beliefs and way of life during the Indigenous Holocaust of the United States. And all for a few rounds! If regime change - the last remaining excuse for the invasion after WMDs etc, - what was wrong with the old, tried, and trust assassins bullet, much used by the CIA in Latin America. Are there no brave snipers or is there not enough money for a paid assassin that would have saved all those innocent lives on both sides? If they were missing recent practice then the masters of assassination, Mossad, would have helped for a large fee. So regime change was never the agenda. The digging in for the long stay also makes a lie of regime change. |
