Damn TN, I have a pair of sneakers in my closet that I'd LOVE to throw away, but I'm saving them for something . . . I walked past a Nike donation point located in the entrance to Wal-Mart a couple of weeks ago. There was only one pair of shoes in it, sitting in the middle of the bottom of the roughly 4' X 4' cage. They looked freakin' brand new. Some people are unclear about the concept. Regarding Nike: If this unspeakably unethical sweat-shop facilitator , and others of their ilk, would lean on their suppliers in so-called developing nations then perhaps, just perhaps, the people there could afford to buy their own shoes. What Socratoad said. lol i just need to know where to send the b.s.......u know? for the needy...... By chance I recycled my sneakers this month. I just took them down to one of our local thrift stores. Check 'em out. They even cool places to find most amazing deals. When dropping off my sneakers I discovered a whole cross-country ski set: boots, poles and skies for $30.00 - Can you imagine. (Lots of novice skiers come to the one modest resort in this area, break their legs and leave their equipment behind). I guess every place has it's unique bargains. But if you haven't yet dived into thrift store donnations and thrift store shopping give it a try; it's fun. Thrift stores can be very addictive. I have a collection that proves it. |
