A Christmas baby!
I had twin cousins born the previous day - Christmas Eve.

A more interesting point is that genetically in blood they were as close as sisters to me and yet are cousins. Sounds very odd but see if you can work it out. It's not a trick question

Could their parents have been cousins as well?

No, a brother and sister married a sister and brother.

Not that extraordinary in large Irish families back then. Child mortality was a major problem. I was born the middle child in our family but was already the eldest when I was born! One was a week, another months, the third may have been still born as my mother never mentioned but it says three on the grave stone.

Back then, the non-baptised were not usually buried in a Catholic graveyard. Another very Christian practice - i don't think - at a time of greatest stress. Anther reason why Catholic clergy should be FORCED to marry and have kids. He he.

Another oddity is that my older siblings were born UK citizens in the same village!!!

Lucky man. Nothing better than an Irish granny.

Sometimes I don't make sense to me. Ha ha. I reread it afterwards and wonder, did I write that. Have you figured the UK citizen bit?
