Taryn Simon wrote a book called 'An American Index of the Hidden and Unfamiliar'. I think her ideas started as political and moral issues that were important to her. I can't imagine what kind of strings she had to pull to take these shots though!

Thanks for the info alancou. I can't imagine what she had to go through to get these shots either. An amazing feat, but I'm glad she shared her efforts with all of us.
