Over the years I have heard stories, both positive and negative about Mother Theresa. I am not a Catholic and I do not pretend to understand everything that it involved in naming someone a saint. But from what I understand, it is a very serious undertaking, and I was very surprised when the Pope seemed to be trying to circumvent the traditional steps required for sainthood in response to popular opinion. It was never my perception that the Catholic church and the naming of a Saint would be run like a popularity poll.

Unfortunately in the year 2007 leaders of all kinds seem to have a tendency to do away with important traditions, laws and documents. You know, like the Constitution of the United States? It's sad.
