Well, my peer group see the US as a violent `rogue state` at this stage, using it`s obscenely large military for very nefarious ends.
We grew up, of course, admiring the USA, rock and roll music, JFK and Martin Luther King: a long time ago in a Galaxy far far away

The title and beanz' comment cover my sentiments quite well.

A friend and I were talking the other day, about how far from grace the US has fallen in our eyes, during the last decade. We used to think the US were the good guys. Now, with all the wars of aggression, the torture, the kidnappings, the lies, etc, that view has changed dramatically. There are no good guys in the world anymore. Just bad guys and even worse guys. That goes for a lot of our allies and my own countries too, because we bought into it and joined in on the bogus War on Terror. We trusted the US and our governments upheld our support, even when it became clear what was really going down. Mistrust and disillusionment ar...
