gingembre says: "The top score on the list below represents the faith that Belief-O-Matic, in its less than infinite wisdom, thinks most closely matches your beliefs. However, even a score of 100% does not mean that your views are all shared by this faith, or vice versa." "Belief-O-Matic then lists another 26 faiths in the order of how much they have in common with your professed beliefs. The higher a faith appears on this list, the more closely it aligns with your thinking." The top two results of this 20-question quiz didn't surprise me, but the degree of commonality of my beliefs with some of the other faiths did. Lots of food for thought here. I encourage you to take the quiz and see how well the results fit your ideas of your own religious and spiritual beliefs. Amazing! Not that the top scores surprised me, but the faiths that were represented at the bottom of my list, were surprising! I never knew I had so little in common with some of them, but apparently, I do! I'm glad you took the quiz. Self-examination takes courage, doesn't it? For some reason I had the least in common with the Jehovah's Witness beliefs. Go figure. I never even heard of the one I scored 100% with. Unitarian Universalist? Or I can be a Liberal Quaker. That's at 97% I can live with that, but I'm not wearing the goofy hats like that guy on my oatmeal. Hey, UpStateMike--Unitarian Universalist is the one I matched with 100%, too! This didn't surprise me in the least, since I am a member of the UU congregation back in Indiana and miss it terribly. Liberal Quaker is at 92% for me. No hat for me, either, although I love the oatmeal! 1. Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (100%) 2. Liberal Quakers (92%) 3. Unitarian Universalism (92%) That's interesting, Deb. At the UU I enjoyed so much we had quite a diversity of beliefs represented. From atheists to liberal Christians (I didn't know of any fundamentalist Christians there), we all formed a harmonious community. I think that you would have appreciated the UU, Deb. Here are the seven principles that Unitarian Universalism promotes: * The inherent worth and dignity of every person; * Justice, equity and compassion in human relations; * Acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth in our congregations; * A free and responsible search for truth and meaning; * The right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our ... 1. Mahayana Buddhism (100%) 2. Liberal Quakers (96%) 3. Unitarian Universalism (96%) I had least in common with the Jehovah's Witness' beliefs too. Oh my God, I never knew I was like a Buddhist! ( I mean...Oh my Buddha, of course. . I have a deep respect and appreciation for the U.U.'s political understanding of the ministry of Jesus Christ, gingembre, which is often overlooked in evangelical and mainstream churches, Gingembre. only meant to say gingembre once, |
