Interventionism, that's exactly what we have today, and it is reeking havoc on our economy. Von Mises was correct. I do not always agree with the mises institute writings of today, they are a bit too anarchistic for me. Rockwell, the founder and president of mises institute is himself a self proclaimed anarchist, and though I agree with many of their views, some are too radical for me in their practical application in today's society. The excerpt from which you clipped is an interesting and good read in its' entirety. Good clip.

Indeed, nor do I. As with anywhere, I take from it what I will, and leave the rest.

I now realize my above response wasn't very clear. Let me clarify, if even just for my own sake:

What mankind needs today is liberation from the rule of nonsensical slogans and a return to sound reasoning.
I totally agree and try hard to look beyond or disregard meaningless phrases. I must admit it is a struggle for me at times to avoid falling into the old label trap. And of course a slogan or label one might find to be meaningless could have great significance to someone else.

There has always been an anti-intellectual undercurrent in US politics and society, and when that sentiment grows, reason fades.
