because in our twisted world confidence outweights competence.

i blame those stupid self-help books that tend to make people supremely self-assured, yet below all of this they're worthless fools.

try for yourself. be skilled in what you do, but be humble. you likely wont get anywhere. on the other hand, be unskilled att what you do, but be so ignorantly confident in it that people around you gain false confidence in your abilities, and you'll become a boss. and those that are skilled will follow you and do the world that you're incapable of doing.

work, not world

Wow... I know of several such people who are directly above me in my chain of command.

Now everyone, including myself, is going to be quite paranoid about this.

I've also read another quote somewhere, but I can't remember it exactly, but it something about self confidence being the stupid man's consolation prize for being dumb.

Now doesn't that make you feel much better you two doubting Thomas's? Hmm? Chuckle chuckle...
