Don't believe a word of it!

You mean that a highly coordinated "dog and pony show" suddenly convinced these senators that everything is alright with the world. Say it isn't so!

Liberal response? Stick fingers in ears, stomp up and down, and insist it isn't happening.

A couple of people MAY or MAY NOT not represent congress as a whole. The whole thing smells of conservative slant. If you read the top of that article, it's an EDITORIAL, which means mostly the OPINION of the editorialist, very little factual reality.

Of course it's an editorial. I like to read both sides. Duh, sorry, but duh. Everyone is going to hear what they want anyway. I like to read opinions from both ends of the spectrum and then use my own bullshit filter. It really isn't going to do you any good to make a judgment before looking at both sides; save, make you sound like a jackass when you respond by "educating" everyone.

Well here is another piece of news to add to the balance sheet:

U.S. ambassador rates Iraq progress as poor

Cool. Thanks for the contribution. That's what I'm saying.

The top U.S. diplomat in Iraq on Tuesday called the country's political progress "extremely disappointing" and warned that support for the government of Prime Minister Nouri al Maliki is not unlimited.
Notice that he said political progress. Heck, the political progress here is "extremely disappointing" too. The president is only a little above his lowest rating and congress is at the lowest ratings ever.

But that has nothing to do with the surge or the military progress we are making. Face it, liberals can't stand to hear good news because good news for America is bad news for them.

Is that part of the "all liberals are traitors" meme or the "stab in the back" myth, is hard to tell them apart.

And oh btw, what was the aim of the Surge again? I thought it was to give the politicians time to get their house in order. Right?

Opinion = little actual reality. Thanks for the insight Hudgal. That's brilliant.

Some people have trouble distinguishing between the two on these boards. I think most people who visit these boards have enough insight to know to whom I'm referring.

Thanks for the clip though, Princess.

You give too much credit. 70% of the morons here prefer blogs to books and are so obviously uneducated as to impel me to sympathy. However, I am sure your instincts are correct about their ignorantly arrived "opinion". To suggest insight is itself quite a profound evidence of ignorance.

Which gives you such an obvious superiority? Interesting that you frequent a site that is all about Internet based information. I mean this site is about clipping things on the Internet, which by definition would run contrary to your source priorities. If blogs are so bad and the Internet is that flawed, why then use a service that is based on capturing information from such a flawed realm?

I was thought (early on) that you where looking for intelligent and fact based debate, but after a few months I came to realize that your only interested in lording your superior knowledge base over others, by among other things, making sweeping and baseless generalizations of the members of this communi...

Well, the fact that it is "obvious" helps.

My bad...the word I was looking for is "what"? I guess the whole concept of the rhetorical question is lost on you...

I read books! Without pictures and everything!!! *twirling hair* Humpf. Me thinks you two are taking this a TAD bit to seriously. I will concede that people don't read enough books and choose, rather to get their information from the "snapshots" blogs, online mags and Internet news outlets offer. It's disappointing they don't read more books. See: http://www.cnn.com/2007/LIVING/wayoflife/08/21/reading.ap/
HOWEVER, I think it may be a bit elitist to chastise people for getting the information they do from the Internet. Christ, at least they are READING. Right? I wouldn't begrudge my friends for having 80% of the picture if they cared at all to look. What's the alternative? "I can'...

Actually, Willie, you are not one of the ones who have proven to have insight into the difference in opinion and factual evidence.

I am not familiar with you Princess, I was obviously wrong about you if you consider both sides of an issue and then give it a run through the bullshit detector. That's exactly what you should be doing here. I appologize. I am a bit jaded by people who clip blogs and other questionable sources and expect everyone to accept it as gospel. I know of a few people who have 100s of posts on one ...
