Sounds like torture to me. Reminds me of a certain bunch of cronies in power now, do I have to name names.

The decision was made by my parents but no anger. We faced the situation with our son and I was able to work out where my parents were coming from. My son's life was not put at risk.

As noxious as the male procedure can be (I know), it (at least as practiced in hospitals) pales in comparison to what is done to females. Anthropologists can go all "native practice" anthro all they want, the crude practices I've seen documented as coming of age for girls are abhorrent and are far more crimes against humanity than what is generally done to males.
