Within days, pirates who had boarded the ship developed strange health complications, skin burns and loss of hair. Independent sources tell The Long War Journal that a number of pirates have also died.
In a strange twist, the Iranian press claims that the U.S. has offered to pay a $7 million bribe to the pirates to "receive entry permission and search the vessel." Officials in the Pentagon and the Department of State approached for this story refused to comment on the situation.

Chemical/Nuclear manifest most likely. High REM radiation exposure can certainly cause all of the above, but so can some nasty nerve/skin agents.

I bet the U.S. wanted to get onboard that ship. Talk about catching Iran with their hand in the cookie jar.

But never mind, the U.S. is in the only de-stabilizing force in the mid-east. Not.

Yes, I can see the U.S. paying $7 million to get a look at the cargo. I'm sure it is nuclear or nerve/skin chemical agents. People don't just get sick, develop skin lesions and die from small arms. Yes, something very fishy in this cargo.

Only 3 POPS for this? I guess nobody is really concerned if the rest of the world does things they only accuse the U.S. of doing. Typical.

I'm pretty sure that every single thing that happens in this world is the result of the US's failed foreign policies. At least that is what I am reading. every. single. day

Iran exporting nuclear/chemical material? No way!
Who'd believe that lie? They're a peace loving nation, we can take Ahmadinejad's word on that can't we?

On lots of clips regarding the dangers Iran poses, several take up for Iran while diverting any blame back to us, wonder if this will change their minds - assuming there is anything substantial to the story.

Russia sends warship after pirate attack Ukrainian ship carrying 33 tanks, hoard of ammunition raided off Africa

MOSCOW - A Russian warship on Friday rushed to intercept a Ukrainian vessel carrying 33 battle tanks and a hoard of ammunition that was seized by pirates off the Horn of Africa — a bold hijacking that again heightened fears about surging piracy and high-seas terrorism. U.S. naval ships were in the area and "monitoring the situation" and a U.S. Defense Department official said Washington was concerned about the attack. "I think we're looking at the full range of options here," Pentagon spokesman Bryan Whitman said....

This is just plain stupid, a few governments utilizing small parts of their navy could intercept and kill these thugs and put a stop to if they just would. They could use "bait" ships to lure the pirates out and then simply kill them. Do that long enough and I guarantee they would stop.

Either that or arm all vessels that navigate that part of the world, equip them to handle any type of boarding/hijacking by either military or specially trained paramilitary troops with the weapons needed to counter the small arms and RPGs the pirates use. I'm thinking along the lines of Blackwater or some other security company who can and would be more than happy to send some pirates to their watery grave.
