El primero, y más mundano, es que el colegio del pueblo donde yo veraneaba llevaba su nombre. Pasada la nostalgia, diré que me parece un pintor moderno a rabiar, de una calidad técnica y artística indiscutible, que supo traer la vanguardia a España en un momento en que nadie se lo agradeció y que, entre todos los olvidados y maltratados por nuestra historia, él es uno de los más grandes.
