Those so-called "lone wolf" types are extremely dangerous, b/c they're so reclusive and they are able to
attack without warning.

If it's true that his religion made him do it, what is the lesson? We see this so very often, this religious violence, but what do we learn from it? What does it tell us?

It tells us that if the person who committed the crime was Christian that we should be shocked and outraged at the heinous crime, but if a Muslim did it then we should be saddened by the senseless violence.

Look how young this guy is; probably five years out of high school and his mind is polluted with religion that teaches violence and hate for others.

The last church I went to was at a funeral and the preacher started talking about how gays are going to hell -- this was at a funeral!

Unfortunately the preacher didn't know that the woman whose funeral he was presiding over had a lesbian daughter, but everyone who knew the deceased did. It was an awkward moment.

For me it was a moment of disgust, for the fakery that is called divine guidance.

Wow, you just equated saying homosexuality is a sin to killing someone.

What I said was "his mind is polluted with religion that teaches violence and hate for others" and then I gave an example of hate being taught by religion.

And then I said I find it disgusting that religion is a fake, pretending divine guidance.

So, preachinging that something is wrong is teaching hate? Would preaching murder is wrong also be teaching hate? Would preaching that adultery is wrong also be teaching hate? Would preaching pre-marital sex is wrong also be teaching hate?

No, preaching hate is preaching hate, which is what this preacher did. (Are you going to put any more words in my mouth?)

So the preacher said you should hate homosexuals?

That was his message.

But were those his words? Did he say you should HATE homosexuals?

The event was over a year ago, so I cannot restate his exact words but at the time while sitting there listening to him it was clear that that was his direct unambiguous meaning.

It was also clear, from discussions with others who were there (the deceased's family) that those were in fact what they also understood. (Like I said, she has a lesbian daughter so it's not like it went over anybody's head. And her other daughter happens to be the mother of "my" daughter so it's not like these people are strangers to me as I have known them all since early high school.)

The guy next to me, an evangelical and a long time friend of mine, also agreed that that was the direct meaning because we disc...

The problem here then seems to be know one knows exactly what this guy said who you claim is preaching hate. You believe that was the meaning of what he said, but when I tried to interpret what you said earlier you accused me of trying to put words in your mouth. So I can't really agree or disagree with you in that particular case.

You obviously think that I, and the entire audience, were mistaken.

I guess we weren't really there... and it was all an illusion.

When I summed up the meaning of something you said to me you accused me of putting words in your mouth. Why is it you are allowed to sum up what someone else said but no one is allowed to sum up something you said? I believe if that preacher saw your summary of what he said he would likely think you were putting words in his mouth. Then again, maybe not. I don't know the guy and I don't know what he said.

Here's a reverend praying for Obama's death:

Entitled:
Pastor Drake Prays for Obama's Death: Prayers of Hate From Rightwing Pulpits

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0GeXVKb2hbM

And somehow you think preaching hate from the pulpit is just a "claim?" Calling for someone's death is hate speech, pure and simple, be it by prayer or bomb.
