This was going on long before Disney. Not to mention that it's heterosexual Mom and Dad that buys this stuff for their kids. So don't blame it on Disney and don't blame it on Hollywood.

This story seems pretty far reaching anyway. As though the writer already new what conclusion he wanted drawn and then tried to find a believable story to go with it. It rates right down there with brainwashing.

What I do blame Disney for is, basically two things. First of all, they appropriate, under the guise of acquiring the rights to a literary property (Bambi, Dumbo) or, more often, taking something that's in public domain (Cinderella, Snow White, Little Mermaid, Through the Looking Glass), give it the Disney treatment, then let the media-consuming public believe that the property originated with the company (for example, it was only recently that the estate of A.A. Milne succeeded in getting the Disney name off the newspaper comic strip based on Winnie the Pooh). My second beef with Disney is that in doing this to existing works, they invariably distort the story from its roots, making it all but unrecognizable.
