Yet another attempt to prove the unproveable. People WILL band together for common defense against enemies. They will work together as long as they feel they are personally gaining something. But the whole communist/socialist "from each... to each" always fails because a) those with don't want to just give it away and b) the bunch of turds making the rules about who has to give and who gets to receive always becomes a tyranny.

But good little Chavezistas will continue to assert their wisdom and wonderfulness. And then kill you if you disagree.

This comment is more than a little silly, since the research presented in the paper offers a very mixed and complicated picture of the attempt to create work-place democracy in Venezuela. Some things seem to work, and some do not; there are no blanket statements of any kind. The comment-writer also seems unaware that Venezuela has elected and reelected the present government several times, under conditions that were universally acknowledged to be beyond reproach. There is also little to no evidence of violence organized by the government in order to supress dissent.

<individuals’ preferences (i.e., needs and desires) are socially and historically constructed through their practices>

The most important part of an important and interesting clip.
