72 years later, the eighth drop is only just about to fall.
Exhilarating!

Seems an awful lot like my research.

This would be cooler if I knew what the hell "pitch" was. I am assuming it is relative to the liquid properties of glass or core earth rocks that actually do flow to some extent.

Just the same, I found it interesting.

Breathtaking update!
Technically speaking, the eighth drop in Parnell's famous Pitch-Drop demonstration experiment "fell" at the end of November last year, while I was overseas. Unfortunately the high-tech webcam's digital memory also suffered a bout of amnesia at the crucial moment...

I love this, and I'm such a geek I would literally sit glued to the monitor watching the webcam and hoping to see the drop fall. But the link didn't work for me...I'll try another browser

Glass has some of the same properties.

The glass in old churches is slightly thicker at the bottom than the top.

How could you have missed such a rip-roaring experiment in your midst?

It took a bit of sticktoitiveness to find it no doubt.

But while I'm adding a comment I though I might also add how funny it is that the word fast has opposing meanings.
