Thank goodness circumcision is on the rise in Australia again. You only have to look at the UK to see that foreskins are not well maintained, many boys not taught to retract their foreskins and the incidence of venereal disease is higher amongs the uncut. Only 1% of British babies are circumcised at birth but by the time they are 21 about 15% of British men have been circumcised due to tight foreskins or other problems. Much more painful and better removed at birth.

I doubt the RACP position will change. There are plenty of Australian doctors quoted recently in the media who are aware of the nonsense of these recent "controlled" trials (controlled by long-time circ-justifiers like Robert Bailey, that is).

Most of the half-million US men who have died of AIDS were circumcised at birth. The African men who were circumcised in the Kenya and Uganda human amputation experiments CONTRACTED HIV at a rate SIX TIMES HIGHER than the rate of new infection for African-American men. Circumcision does not pevent AIDS.

It costs the UN just 3 cents to give away a condom.

I dont believe circumcision prevents AIDS but it does prevent genital warts and other minor sexually transmitted diseases and foreskins are just hard to keep clean they often smell.
