That's a very dismal view of the world. I certainly don't feel that way. My grandmother was a full-blooded American Indian; she had it rough, but she didn't let it hold her back - not one bit. She didn't raise her kids to think in terms being victims. Her kids did not raise us to think in terms of being victims. It's a dangerous mindset to be in when you believe the whole world is out to get you. Because it's simply not true.

it's not about being a victim. it's a response to a global stereotypical view about blacks. when you look at our history, it becomes apparent that with all that we have withstood and continue to endure, that we are very beautiful indeed. you cannot invalidate what is. that is the way of america, to silence what are apparent racist and xenophobic ways of being.
