Sometimes tax hikes fly under the radar. We are all concerned with our marginal tax rates, sales tax rates, and property tax rates. But what about the "other" taxes, fees, and things filed under "misc?"

Well frankly, we teenagers are the most political apathetic people in United States and have the lowest voter turnouts. The demograph exactly isn't in our favour as well. So...why should politicians exactly care about us?

They'd never dare to even think about raising taxes on senior citizens?

Can anyone guess why?

A lot of ink has been spilled writing about how we (America) need to spend more on education and help more kids get to (and through) college. Here's a tax that will collect $1.5 billion from those kids who we're supposedly trying to help.

And you make a good point. Kids under 18 can't vote, and young adults rarely vote.

Exactly muckdog, the same Congress that complains that colleges need to subsidize education taxes the very same kids it claims its trying to help.

I see you're an investor. Do you mind if we chat some time? (Not any will you take my money questions, I'm just interested in knowing something...)
