This is Chomsky in his role as linguist, not as political activist, of course. Many years ago, the Chicago Tribune carried an interview with someone who had been doing Christian missionary work among South American tribes. One of the quotes was something like, "It's really hard to teach the bible to people who have no words for war, sin or crime." The real crime was introducing these concepts.
