So for people like me driving a 2006 Hyundai Sonata that already gets 25 mpg, I'm screwed. No way that I can qualify by finding a car with a 4 mpg to over 10 mpg increase. Anyway, I live in a rural area, where to go anywhere first requires a 40 mile round trip, 20 miles to the nearest main road and then 20 miles from the nearest main road back home. These rules were made for city and suburban dwellers. It won't help people who live in rural areas, unless they can find a more economical pick up truck or SUV. Annually I put between 30,000 - 35,000 miles on my car. Again, if Congress really wanted to help, they would find a way to help the people who drive the most miles.

An all electric car is not feasible when it has to be plugged in after a 2 - 3 hour drive--which is not an unusual occurrence for me. And who is going to let me plug in my car so I can get back home?
