zizzy says: Many conservatives accuse Hitler of being a leftist, on the grounds that his party was named "National Socialist." But socialism requires worker ownership and control of the means of production. In Nazi Germany, private capitalist individuals owned the means of production, and they in turn were frequently controlled by the Nazi party and state. True socialism does not advocate such economic dictatorship -- it can only be democratic. Hitler's other political beliefs place him almost always on the far right. He advocated racism over racial tolerance, eugenics over freedom of reproduction, merit over equality, competition over cooperation, power politics and militarism over pacifism, dictatorship over democracy, capitalism over Marxism, realism over idealism, nationalism over internationalism, exclusiveness over inclusiveness, common sense over theory or science, pragmatism over principle, and even held friendly relations with the Church, even though he was an atheist. Does anyone remember the old adage"you become what you hate"? "We are socialists, we are enemies of today's capitalistic economic system for the exploitation of the economically weak, with its unfair salaries, with its unseemly evaluation of a human being according to wealth and property instead of responsibility and performance, and we are all determined to destroy this system under all conditions." --Adolf Hitler(Speech of May 1, 1927. Quoted by Toland, 1976, p. 306) Does that sound like someone on the right? I think not. Maybe in a episode of Fringe or in one of ratilfart's fantasies. Hitler was to the right Stalin's Communism. But nice try zizzy. Dream on. Does anyone remember the old adage"you become what you hate"?So if you hate Hitler, you become him, is that what you're saying? I wouldn't go bragging about that if you live life by that comment. I didn't see LJS's comment as having that meaning at all Clip On. This is a thought provoking clip as always Zizzy. guess it went over his head, maybe he'll catch it on the rebound. The meaning is thus...when you hate a perceived enemy so much, too much in fact, you begin to take on the same methodology and thinking that you tout as the evil of the enemy, with of course the self justification of it's the only way to beat them. You lose yourself in hatred and become the very thing you claim to hate. This Clip On, is the trap that I try to avoid, and why I keep this saying close by. Too much hatred will destroy you. I am sad to say I've been watching our country fall right into it. Fear leads to anger; anger leads to hate; hate leads to suffering haha. well it is true. A great explanation can be found here: http://www.politicalcompass.org Take the test BEFORE you search the site. It's well worth the few minutes it will take you, I promise! Thanks blackroseheart. This confirms that claims of good vs. evil or right vs. wrong have no merit when ascribed to politics, that invention of imperfect humanity. I'm pleased by my score. Although many have tried (and failed), my political beliefs are not easily defined. The analysis has give me a direction to explore. And funny enough, the analysis points to a political philosophy that I've explored but the way that it is defined in the US is a big turnoff. I dig the alternative which also explains why I'm tuned-in to a certain author. You're quite welcome. I found that site a few weeks ago, and loved it enough that I'm pimping it out everywhere! LOL My score was pretty close to perfect for me, as well. My beliefs are also not easily defined, so it was great for me to find the reason for that at this site. Glad you had similar results! |
