A student has been charged £800 in fees by her bank after her current account went overdrawn by just eight pence.

Happened to me last week, not for the much, but I was over drawn for 1 day, the very next day money was transfered into my account and I was back in the black, but I still got a 20 Pound fine for it. :-/ Bloody ridiculous how banks get away with charging you for a debt you wouldn't be in if they hadn't charged you to begin with.

There is absolutely no need for this young lady to pay these charges. She should go to the CAB and after listening, follow their advice. she should finish up paying only the original 8p.
