I think it's quite possible to love someone too much. If love becomes an obsession, it can be very destructive.
Stalkers, suicide, crimes of passion, murder, depression if unrequited etc. I even think I read somewhere love is sort of a psychiatric illness. *LOL*

Sometimes yes you can love someone too much. My grandchildren mean more to me than anyone else in the world. I love them so much that yes it hurts because now when they're young thet love me too. But when they get older it will change to indifference or dislike. But my love for them will not change.

I agree that loving someone too much would cause destruction to oneself... even though not until suicide but sometimes it's hurt us in many ways..so...i think..it's better not to let urself too in love with someone..well..some says..it's better to prevent than to cure..
