In trying to resolve the difference between her actions and her words when it comes to earmarks, i'm thinking that she may be confusing earmarks with Clipmarks.

To the best of my knowledge, Palin has never supported Clipmarks. So, maybe that's what she's referring to and the word "ear" just keeps magically replacing the "clip".

Cause the facts sure seem to suggest that she supported earmarks before she decided to say she didn't.

In defense of Palin,I have to say that the woman has a shot at being the #2 political figure in the most powerful country in the world.Who can blame her for whatever she uses if ultimately....it works.Personally I believe Obama to be sincere, naive perhaps, but with good intent.
This woman is probably not a bad person, but really, the next potential president?

I think that says more about McCain than anything. A complete neophyte that got no vetting being the running mate for someone who would be the oldest first term president? His desire for the position has made a mockery of his slogan. It should be "McCain First"

This reminds me of a specious argument that is frequently thrown out by a particular "clipper". Her argument is that if you protest excessive taxation, while collecting Social Security "benefits", you are being hypocritical. The same logic applies to this clip. The Federal government collects taxes at the state level and then redistributes them as they see fit. Why wouldn't anyone/anystate try to get back at least a fraction of what they paid in.

The centralized Federal Govt make all of us feed at the trough. Yes, I will always try to recoup as much as I possibly can get back from the nanny-state. Progressive taxation is the biggest form of tyranny I can think of. If you truly believe that "all men are created equal" but then support some being forced (at the point of a gun) to pay a higher percentage of their income in taxes, then it is you who is a hypocrite.

That's fine, but it's certainly not new politics. Same old politics is all it is. If you wrap an old fish in new paper, it still smells bad.
