<BR /> Marilyn: Another difference between the deals a prosecutor makes and bribery is that the
deals are not hidden. (May 3, 2009) They are exposed in Court so the people making the
decision--whether judge or jury--can take that fact into account when deciding whether to believe
the testimony. We've all seen court dramas in which witnesses are asked, "...and did my office
offer you anything in exchange for your testimony?" by the prosecution (if no deal was made) or,
"Is it true that you have been offered a reduced sentence in exchange for testifying here today?"
by the defense.
