Not sure of your intent, Aces, so I'll make assumptions. Were you being a little facetious that liberals/progressives push for legalization of marijuana while seeming to want to make tobacco illegal? That's understandable to a point.

For the record, I don't want to make tobacco illegal I just want to take the marketing out of it that makes it so desirable. For me a plain white carton with generic black lettering, no television, print, radio, or internet ads. Additionally it would be good to restrict the additives that could be added to tobacco that accelerate and intensify the nicotine effect.

BTW, quitting smoking is by far the most difficult thing I've ever done. +4 years now. Every now and then I still dream I'm having a cigarette.

I do wish you the best in staying smoke free. I have a brother who finally kicked it and a former roommate who finally kicked it also. I witnessed the roommate try many times and am really proud of him. He mentions the same recurring desires that you mentioned.

I think back to the many years I spent bar tending in some pretty smoked filled bars and wonder what the result of those years were. Now I can hardly stand to be in a smoke filled bar. Makes me truly appreciate those communities that have required restaurants and bars to be smoke free.
